Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications with precision and efficiency.
- Assist the Pharmacist in medication therapy management and quality control processes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage inventory levels of pharmaceutical stock.
- Process insurance claims and handle patient inquiries regarding prescriptions.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and DEA guidelines.
- Counsel patients on proper medication usage and potential side effects.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred or state licensure required.
- High School Diploma or GED; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage calculations.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex medical information clearly.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management software (e.g., Cerner, McKesson).
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail.
