As a Pharmacy Technician at MediCore, you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, process, and dispense prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and current medications, to prevent adverse drug interactions.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels of pharmaceutical products, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist in the cleaning and organization of the pharmacy workspace to ensure a sterile and professional environment.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients regarding prescription refill requests, insurance questions, and medication counseling.
- Process insurance claims and handle payment transactions with high accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT or PTCB) is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Current state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in Texas (where applicable).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer applications.
