Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of prescriptions and patient information before dispensing.
- Prepare and package medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Process payments and handle insurance claims accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace.
- Assist in the compounding of non-sterile medications when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and insurance providers.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to obtain certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
