Responsibilities
- Operate pharmacy equipment (automated dispensing cabinets, compounding devices, barcode scanners) accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory using digital systems to ensure stock levels and track expiration dates
- Maintain sterile environments for compounding and medication preparation
- Process insurance claims and manage prescription documentation
- Provide excellent customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- High school diploma or equivalent; pharmacy tech degree preferred
- 1+ years of pharmacy technician experience
- Proficiency with pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid Georgia pharmacy technician license
