Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately prepare, package, and label medications for patients, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Verification: Verify patient information and prescription orders against physician's orders to prevent errors.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming deliveries, and restock medications and supplies as needed.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to patients by answering questions about medications, insurance, and store policies.
- Insurance Billing: Assist patients with insurance claims, co-pays, and reimbursement processes.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification is required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills for accurate dosing calculations.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner) and standard office equipment.
