Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately according to physician orders and state regulations.
- Verify patient information and insurance details to ensure proper billing and compliance.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries and provide education on proper usage.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments and stocking shelves.
- Process prescription claims and handle copay collections efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment in compliance with hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new pharmacy software systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Current state pharmacy technician license.
