Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, verifying prescriptions, and providing excellent customer service to our community in Wichita.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Pharmacist in the dispensing process, including verifying prescriptions and preparing medications.
- Input patient information and insurance data into the pharmacy management system accurately.
- Engage with patients to answer questions regarding medications and provide basic health information.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and managing expired medications.
- Process payments and handle returns or exchanges at the pharmacy counter.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with pharmacy software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (optional, for store delivery duties).
