Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and package prescribed medications, including counting, pouring, and weighing.
- Verify prescription information for completeness and accuracy prior to dispensing.
- Assist the pharmacist with clinical tasks, such as medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and restock pharmaceutical supplies as needed.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and fully compliant with HIPAA and state regulations.
- Process insurance claims and handle payment transactions at the point of service.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to resolve patient inquiries and medication issues.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or currently eligible for certification (PTCB/ExCPT).
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage calculations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
