Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and label prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records with precision
- Counsel patients on medication usage and potential side effects
- Ensure strict compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software efficiently
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV preparations
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Background check and drug screening required
