Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and California Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Assist in sterile compounding of IV medications and chemotherapy preparations
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy outcomes
Qualifications
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of medication safety protocols and sterile compounding
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Proficient in pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) and EMR systems
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
