Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately verify prescription information and input patient data into the pharmacy management system (PDA/PM system).
- Medication Dispensing: Prepare and package prescription medications, ensuring proper labeling and dosage accuracy.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with prescription inquiries, insurance verification, and medication questions in a friendly and professional manner.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain an organized and clean pharmacy environment.
- Compliance & Safety: Perform quality control checks to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, HIPAA policies, and safety protocols.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with pharmacists and nursing staff to resolve medication discrepancies and ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and medication handling.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with computer systems and typing skills.
