Responsibilities
- Verify Prescription Accuracy: Review physician orders for completeness and accuracy before dispensing medication to ensure patient safety.
- Medication Preparation: Prepare and package prescriptions, including compounding and labeling, following strict regulatory standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and perform monthly inventory audits.
- Customer Service: Assist patients with medication inquiries, insurance verifications, and prescription transfers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations, state pharmacy laws, and company policies at all times.
- Data Entry: Accurately input patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy management system.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification or eligibility to sit for the exam.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in Pharmacy Technology is a plus.
- Math Skills: Strong aptitude for basic math and measurement conversions.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high accuracy in fast-paced environments.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
