Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephone and in-person patient assessments to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and expedite critical cases
- Document clinical encounters accurately in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear, compassionate health education to patients and their families
- Triage emergency cases according to established protocols and hospital policies
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and triage process refinement
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois with minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC or ENPC preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in rapid patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate stressful situations
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EPIC experience preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
