Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain electronic patient records
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and adherence protocols
- Ensure strict compliance with NY State pharmacy laws and DEA regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and compound medications as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active NYS Pharmacy Technician license required
- PTCB or ExCPT certification strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in compounding
- Strong communication skills for patient interactions
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance
