Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications according to doctor's orders and state regulations.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to patients by answering questions, processing insurance claims, and managing payments.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, restock shelves, and perform monthly inventory audits to ensure medication availability.
- Quality Assurance: Verify prescription details for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness before dispensing.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA privacy laws and pharmacy safety protocols to protect patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., McKesson, Cerner) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
