Responsibilities
- Dispense Prescription Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications according to physician orders and state regulations.
- Patient Assistance: Greet customers, answer questions regarding prescription refills and medication therapies, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming shipments, and ensure the pharmacy is fully stocked with necessary supplies.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and process transactions efficiently at the point of sale.
- Quality Assurance: Perform routine checks to ensure accuracy in prescription filling and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Assist Pharmacist: Support the Pharmacist in compounding medications and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current California Pharmacy Technician License (CPhT) required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and medication interactions.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
