Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications according to physician orders and safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage inventory replenishment, and conduct regular stock counts to ensure availability.
- Customer Service: Assist patients with medication inquiries, insurance verification, and prescription transfers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA privacy standards and controlled substance handling procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Assist pharmacists in reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, interactions, and potential drug recalls.
- Documentation: Maintain precise and up-to-date patient records, prescription logs, and financial transactions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, active PTCB or ExCPT certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting is preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and a focus on patient safety.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using pharmacy management software and computer systems.
