As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the medications they need safely and accurately. We pride ourselves on our community focus and our commitment to excellence in pharmaceutical services.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and Package Medications: Accurately fill prescriptions, count and pour medications, and prepare unit-dose packages for distribution.
- Verify Prescriptions: Review physician orders for completeness and accuracy, and verify insurance information before processing.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients and healthcare professionals in a professional and friendly manner, answering questions regarding medications and store policies.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels, processing incoming deliveries, and managing stock rotation.
- Assist Pharmacists: Support the Pharmacist with compounding medications, preparing IVs, and handling special orders.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal laws, HIPAA regulations, and company policies regarding patient confidentiality and medication safety.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training provided.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
- Licensure: Valid California Pharmacy Technician license (or eligibility to obtain one) is required.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
