Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, verify, and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, place orders for pharmaceutical supplies, and manage the pharmacy inventory system to ensure timely availability of medications.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients to answer inquiries, provide medication counseling, and resolve any issues regarding prescriptions or insurance.
- Insurance Verification: Process insurance claims and verify patient benefits to minimize billing errors and ensure timely reimbursement.
- Compounding & Preparation: Prepare sterile medications and compound prescriptions as required, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, including HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- Licensure: Valid Nevada State Pharmacy Technician license.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., Rx30, McKesson) and strong computer literacy.
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
