Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and conducting cycle counts
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering patient inquiries about medications
- Process insurance claims and maintain accurate patient records
- Operate pharmacy technology systems efficiently (Rx30, QS/1)
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
- Prepare IV admixtures and sterile products (when certified)
- Train new pharmacy staff on standard procedures
Qualifications
- Active Nebraska Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy software
- Valid CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
