Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescriptions according to doctor's orders and safety protocols.
- Prescription Verification: Review prescriptions for completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness before dispensing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage the pharmacy inventory system efficiently.
- Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to patients by answering questions regarding medications, dosage, and interactions.
- Insurance Processing: Assist patients with insurance claims, copays, and financial counseling.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and state pharmacy board regulations.
- Assist Pharmacist: Support the supervising pharmacist with compounding, medication therapy management, and clinical services.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or registration with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage calculations.
- Technical: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems (e.g., Rx30, PillPack, etc.).
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
