As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be the backbone of our pharmacy operations, ensuring that every patient receives their medication accurately and with a smile.
Responsibilities
- Accurate Prescription Processing: Verify and process prescriptions, including refill requests and new orders, with a 100% accuracy rate.
- Patient Assistance: Interact directly with patients to answer questions regarding prescriptions, insurance coverage, and product availability.
- Inventory Control: Manage stock levels, prepare orders for delivery, and maintain the pharmacy's inventory system efficiently.
- Regulatory Adherence: Strictly follow HIPAA guidelines and state pharmacy laws to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Quality Assurance: Assist pharmacists in reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and potential drug interactions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a current, valid Pharmacy Technician certification (ExCPT or CPhT).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Pharmacy Technology preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is highly desirable.
- Math Skills: Strong aptitude for mathematics, specifically for dosage calculations.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
