Responsibilities
- Verify prescription orders for accuracy and completeness, checking for potential drug interactions.
- Prepare and package medications according to strict safety and legal protocols.
- Assist pharmacists with compounding and preparing specialty medications.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records.
- Process insurance claims and handle patient billing inquiries efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding prescriptions and medication instructions.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
- Valid state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
