Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, verify, and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Perform routine inventory management, including stock counting and reordering of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing equipment and software systems to process insurance claims and patient records.
- Assist in the preparation of sterile products and intravenous (IV) medications where applicable.
- Communicate with patients regarding prescription refills and general medication inquiries.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- Current valid license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in Minnesota.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with pharmacy management software.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately under time constraints.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
