As a Pharmacy Technician at MedExpress, you will be the vital link between our pharmacists and our patients, ensuring accuracy and care in every interaction.
Responsibilities
- Dispensing & Verification: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Customer Service: Assist patients with medication questions, process insurance claims efficiently, and provide a welcoming checkout experience.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive and verify incoming pharmaceutical shipments, and manage inventory records.
- Medication Safety: Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and disposal of controlled substances.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, prescription files, and logbooks in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Point of Sale (POS): Operate the pharmacy POS system to process payments and handle returns or exchanges.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active PTCB or ExCPT certification is required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program is a plus.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred, but entry-level candidates with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and medication preparation.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
