Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and package prescription medications according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription accuracy before dispensing.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist the pharmacist with compounding, filling, and reviewing prescriptions.
- Process payments, handle cash transactions, and resolve billing inquiries efficiently.
- Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding medication usage and potential side effects.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent math skills for accurate dispensing.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, Epic).
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
