Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, verify, and dispense prescriptions according to state and federal laws.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, maintain accurate inventory records, and order pharmaceutical supplies efficiently.
- Patient Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications, dosage, and side effects.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims to minimize errors and ensure timely reimbursement.
- Compounding & Labeling: Prepare and label medication packages, including specialized compounds, ensuring proper documentation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, McKesson) and computer systems.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to detect and prevent errors in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 25 lbs when necessary.
