Responsibilities
- Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare medications by counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing pharmaceutical products.
- Maintain the pharmacy inventory, including monitoring stock levels, conducting monthly audits, and ordering supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone inquiries, verifying insurance coverage, and addressing patient concerns.
- Assist in the compounding of sterile and non-sterile medications according to strict protocols.
- Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with all state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to sit for certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and drug interactions.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is a plus.
