Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound preparations following safety protocols
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation of pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility for medication coverage
- Provide exceptional customer service, counseling patients on proper medication usage
- Maintain precise records of controlled substances and pharmacy operations
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy management
- Utilize pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory tracking
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certification required)
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and prescription processing
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex medical information
- Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in medication handling
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure environments
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
