Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Assist with sterile compounding and IV admixtures when certified
- Maintain compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and pharmacy board regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for efficient operations
Qualifications
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certification through PTCB or ExCPT (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong attention to detail and math skills for medication accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic computer proficiency with EMR systems
