Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately and efficiently according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and medication orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist pharmacists with sterile compounding and medication preparation.
- Maintain inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and process incoming shipments.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions regarding medications and insurance.
- Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy policies and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- Current, unencumbered Pharmacy Technician license in North Carolina.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
