Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service while counseling patients on medication usage
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality of patient records
- Assist with sterile compounding and IV admixtures when certified
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for prescription processing
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records
- Excellent communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic math skills for dosage calculations and inventory management
- High school diploma or equivalent required
