Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify prescription orders for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate dosages before dispensing.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and performing monthly stock counts.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries and provide basic counseling regarding usage and storage.
- Process insurance claims, handle billing transactions, and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and answering phone calls professionally.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required.
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems and computer proficiency.
