Responsibilities
- Assist Pharmacists: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to patients by answering questions, processing insurance claims, and managing patient profiles.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive shipments, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products according to safety regulations.
- Compounding & Processing: Prepare sterile compounding products and perform basic pharmaceutical calculations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations, state pharmacy laws, and company policies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Quality Control: Review prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness before dispensing.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) preferred but not mandatory if willing to train.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and patience.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform repetitive tasks with high precision and maintain a focus on safety protocols.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills and comfort learning new pharmacy management software systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Availability: Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required by the pharmacy schedule.
