Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing workflow including data entry, insurance verification, and order fulfillment
- Provide exceptional customer service while counseling patients on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and pharmacy board regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell) for prescription processing and record-keeping
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related inquiries
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 1 year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing systems and inventory management
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex medication information
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Pass background check and drug screening
