Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA protocols
- Operate provided phlebotomy equipment (tourniquets, needles, collection tubes)
- Maintain sterile work environments and equipment calibration
- Document patient data accurately in EMR systems
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with lab staff for sample processing and analysis
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or NCCT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Proficiency with provided phlebotomy technology
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent venipuncture skills on diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
