Responsibilities
- Perform Venipunctures: Draw blood samples efficiently and accurately from patients of all ages using proper aseptic techniques.
- Patient Interaction: Ensure a positive patient experience by explaining procedures, answering questions, and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
- Specimen Handling: Properly label, process, and transport blood samples to the laboratory for testing in compliance with chain-of-custody protocols.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, HIPAA policies, and laboratory standards to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and laboratory logs using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock supplies, such as needles, tourniquets, and test tubes, to ensure readiness for daily operations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Phlebotomy certification (CPT, BPT, ASPT, NHA, or equivalent) required.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Location: Must be willing to work in Arlington, TX.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
