Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with minimal discomfort and maximum safety.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and demonstrate excellent bedside manner during all interactions.
- Accurately label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document procedures and patient information efficiently.
- Assist in inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to facilitate a smooth patient flow in the clinic.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification (e.g., ASCP, ASPT).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
