Responsibilities
- Perform Blood Draws: Collect blood samples via venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques on patients of all ages.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, verify identity, and explain the phlebotomy process to ensure a comfortable experience.
- Specimen Handling: Properly label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory in accordance with safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict adherence to hygiene standards, sterilization procedures, and safety guidelines (OSHA/CLIA).
- Administrative Duties: Accurately log patient data, manage appointment schedules, and assist with basic clerical tasks.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all phlebotomy equipment is clean, calibrated, and functioning correctly.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We provide comprehensive training for the right candidates.
- Skills: Basic math skills (for calculating hemoglobin/platelet counts) and strong attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Certifications: Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level consideration.
