Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and accurately prepare medical records and specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain a sterile, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure informed consent.
- Process and label blood samples for transport to the central laboratory.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure seamless patient flow.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and infection control protocols.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation for potential mobile duties.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for remote documentation entry.
