Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens accurately following strict protocols
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Verify patient identity and prepare samples for laboratory analysis
- Document procedures in electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure efficient workflow
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in phlebotomy
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal discomfort to patients
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Michigan state phlebotomy license (if applicable)
