Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety during blood collection.
- Label, log, and transport specimens to the laboratory for processing accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
- Manage inventory of blood collection supplies and request necessary reagents.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Valid Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, CPT-I, or equivalent) required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while handling high-volume patient loads.
- High school diploma or GED required.
