Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory with strict adherence to protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Operate laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Implement infection control procedures and safety standards
- Collaborate with healthcare team for seamless patient care
- Train new staff on phlebotomy techniques and procedures
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) required
- 1+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred
- Excellent venipuncture skills with pediatric to geriatric populations
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and specimen handling
- BLS certification from AHA required
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical settings
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
