Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and arterial blood collections following strict safety protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately with meticulous attention to detail
- Operate automated laboratory equipment and maintain sterile environments
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure efficient specimen handling
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records systems
- Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- Current New Jersey Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience preferred
- CPR/BLS certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of specimen handling and processing protocols
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and patient comfort techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- High school diploma or equivalent required
