Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following established protocols
- Process and label specimens ensuring chain-of-custody integrity
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and data entry
- Collaborate with lab personnel for sample processing
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Current Ohio Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTCE or ASCP)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Proficiency in blood collection techniques (pediatric, geriatric, difficult draws)
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Basic computer literacy with EMR experience preferred
- Background check and drug screen clearance
