Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection following strict protocols
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory while maintaining chain of custody
- Verify patient identity and prepare samples for testing with precision
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records system
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with clinical team to optimize patient flow
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- 1+ years of clinical experience in blood collection
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy laws
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Strong communication skills for patient interactions
- Basic computer proficiency for EHR documentation
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
