Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens ensuring chain-of-custody integrity
- Maintain sterile work environments and calibrated equipment
- Provide patient education on collection procedures
- Collaborate with lab staff for efficient specimen processing
- Document all procedures in HIPAA-compliant systems
- Adhere to OSHA and CLIA regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current ASCP or NCCT Phlebotomy certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience
- Valid Virginia phlebotomy license
- BLS/CPR certification
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for patient interaction
- Proficiency with LIS/EHR systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
