Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate electronic records
- Prepare equipment and supplies for daily phlebotomy procedures
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with lab staff to ensure timely specimen transport
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a fast-paced environment
- Texas Phlebotomy Technician license in good standing
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal complications
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems and specimen tracking
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
