Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using standardized techniques
- Process and label specimens with 100% accuracy to ensure lab integrity
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control protocols per OSHA standards
- Provide patient education and comfort during specimen collection procedures
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and data management
- Collaborate with clinical team to optimize patient workflow
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Active Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or AMT)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in acute care setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen processing
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Knowledge of HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced environment
