Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws using standardized techniques
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile environments and follow OSHA safety protocols
- Verify patient identities and maintain detailed medical records
- Operate provided phlebotomy equipment including vacutainers, needles, and tourniquets
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Current CPR certification
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
